The Pre-K Coordinator will provide support and oversight for our new full-day pre-k programs located at CJL, MCS, SPE and SRTC. This position will work closely with program staff, administration and the assistant superintendent to oversee all aspects of classroom program planning, implementation and evaluation following Maine DOE's rules and regulations and Maine's Early Learning Standards. Schedule TBD once a suitable candidate is found.
Responsibilities include: 1. Work with staff to set up and maintain a well-organized, safe, and attractive classroom environment conducive to the optimal growth and development of children. 2. Meet regularly with teacher(s) and ed-techs to provide support in lesson planning, program development and student progress. 3. Implement State of Maine Licensing regulations, and Maine's Early Learning Guidelines into performance standards, policies and procedures and guidelines in the day-to-day operation of pre-k. 4. Coordinate with program staff the screening of pre-k students. 5. Review with staff the progress of each child and develop written plans to promote each child's growth and development. 6. Coordinate referrals and services with CDS. 7. work with staff, in planning and participating in parent activities. 8. Coordinate staff/parent conferences. 9. Provide day-to-day supervision and support to teachers, ed-techs, . 10. Provide orientation and training for new staff, substitutes and volunteers. 11. Coordinate transition activities for incoming students and students entering kindergarten. 12. Observe each program monthly to monitor the overall program. 13. Participate in program evaluation with school administrators and assistant superintendent. 14. Keep abreast of current knowledge in the field of Early Childhood Education. 15. Other duties as assigned.

BA in Early Childhood Education
Minimum 5 Years - Early Childhood Education experience
Excellent Verbal & Written Communication Skills
Ability to interact with families in a nurturing, compassionate and sincere manner
