Job Description

South Portland High School is searching for a dynamic individual to join the Special Education Department. Experience in all aspects of special education case management to ensure compliance with requirements under IDEA is required. The ideal candidate will be skilled at monitoring student progress and utilizing a variety of interventions and strategies to maximize student success. Candidates should demonstrate strong communication and collaboration skills, problem solving ability, flexibility, and the ability to manage and supervise several education technicians. Applicants must be interested in working collaboratively with team members on curriculum, instruction, and assessment. Applicants should be willing to make student achievement an ultimate priority.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
?Specially designed instruction in English Language Arts and/or math
?Case management (IEP development, Written Notices, academic assessments, Positive Behavioral Support Plans, IEP process)
?Communication with parents/guardians
?Student supervision and classroom management
