ELHS Special Ed Team Leader



Position Overview: This position is responsible for the coordination and management of special education staff and programming at Edward Little High School.



Remain current on special education law and serve as a reference to all staff concerning special education law.
Supervise and coach case managers in the writing and completion of IEP paperwork ensuring that state guidelines and special education law and legal timelines are followed .
Supervise implementation of IEPs and coach case managers to ensure that all services and accommodations are provided
Work with case managers and regular education teachers to monitor student progress in finding solutions to ensure student growth as supported by the IEP.
Process student scheduling as needed, ensure school programs are aligned with the IEP.
Supervise Ed Techs, create ed tech schedules and assignments, plan Ed tech professional development.

Plan for and run biweekly special education department meetings.

Respond to new referral requests, run referral meetings and complete referral academic assessments.
Work with school administrators on student plans to ensure accordance with special ed law
Work with guidance counselors on 504 referrals and in developing 504 plans in accordance with school law.
Assist special education teachers with curriculum needs, provide coaching on instruction and differentiation.
Work with the special education director to implement district initiatives and out of district referrals and placement.

    Job Requirements

    • Bachelor's Degree

      Knowledge of different career inventories and use, knowledge of college process, strong communication skills, experience with students and staff, initiative.



      Certification 282 Teacher of Students with Disabilities 7-12
    • At least 2 years of relevant experience preferred
    • Bachelor degree preferred
    • Citizenship, residency or work VISA in United States required
